Function of optical cable fixing poles
Fiber optic poles are vertical structures used to support fiber optic cables, which serve as the backbone of modern telecommunication networks. This Engineering Instruction (EI) deals with the guidelines and the installation practice for installing self-supporting metal free aerial optical Fiber cable. Deploying fiber above ground on poles or towers removes the need for underground digging and is particularly useful when the ground is uneven, rocky or both. It is important when installing aerial optical fibre cable lengths to make proper arrangement for an adequate extra length of cable at a pole position for testing and jointing. The role of tension fittings: tension fittings are mainly installed on terminal towers and tension towers.
